About us

Founded in 2019 by Movimenti Production and with about 400 professionals working, DogHead Animation is the leading 2D animation studio in Italy. Its headquarter is in Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, while starting from 2023 Bari hosts the brand new DogHead Animation Apulia studio. Thanks to its permanent crew and its network of in-house trained talents, DogHead has a reliable and quality focused team of artists who animates national and international projects.

What's new

SLIB

We couldn’t be prouder of being part of the production of Tear Along The Dotted Line, the already iconic series based on Zerocalcare comics. Together with Movimenti Production and Bao Publishing, DogHead team worked on layout, rigging and animation for the 6 episodes of the series now streaming on Netflix.

The Game Catchers

Our team had so much fun on the tiny planet Flossy, populated by alien children of all kinds! We worked on rigging and animation for 52×7' episodes starring the Game Catchers and Mr. Moustache exploring the universe and learning new games! The series, directed by Andrea Bozzetto, and produced by Studio Bozzetto and Sardine Productions, will air on Rai YOYO.

Vooks

We loved storyboarding and animating stories from the catalogue of Vooks, the streamable library aimed at parents and kids to promote the love of reading. Our team worked on 24 titles, each one telling a different story with a different illustration style. Watch them all on https://watch.vooks.com/.

Scrivile Scemo

We do love some good music! Our team worked on the preproduction and animation of the Scrivile Scemo videoclip from the EP Ahia! by Pinguini Tattici Nucleari. We teamed up with Movimenti Production on this clip for Sony Italia which mixes live action and animation.

m%n

The italian rapper Tha Supreme landed on the moon in his latest video clip, directed by Movimenti Production and animated by our talented team! Released on the artist’s youtube channel in 2021, m%n shows the rapper landing on the moon and discovering a completely new reality.

Incastrati

The first TV series by the Italian comic duo Ficarra e Picone will air on Netflix in 2022. DogHead produced the animation for the theme song working through the design and storyboard till the final animation for the six episodes of Incastrati, which will be distributed in over 190 countries. Lupo S2

Based on the beloved books by Orianne Lallemand, Lupo is now also a successful tv series produced by Movimenti Production. Our team worked on the animation for season 2, creating 16 episodes that will air on Rai Yoyo and Rai Play.

Supereroi

DogHead is back in the movie theatre world with the release of the Supereroi movie by Paolo Genovese. Screened in December 2021, the movie, starring Alessandro Borghi and Jasmine Trinca, is distributed by Medusa film. Our team created 2D and 3D clips for the movie.

When I was your age

Paul is a 10 years old and he has a special gift: as soon as someone says "When I was your age", Paul is thrown back into the days when the person he is talking to was 10 years old! For this MoBo Digital Factory and Monello co-production, DogHead team realized all the rigs for the show and 22 animated episodes among the 52.

BOY & DRAGON S2

We had so much fun storyboarding and animating six episodes for season two of Boy & Dragon, an animated series for kids 5-7 about a brave Knight and his oafish pet Dragon. Great teamwork with WildBrain Spark on one of their fastest-growing original content YouTube shows!

Our animators have done a great job with Movimenti Production for Tha Supreme's new music video.

Tolo Tolo

We are very proud of our first step into the movie theatre world! DogHead Animation team created character design, backgrounds and 2D animations for the videoclip La Cicogna Strabica, at the end of the new successful Checco Zalone 's movie, Tolo Tolo. Thanks to Inlusion VFX and TaoDue.

Spooky Wolf

What if the Big Bad Wolf is neither big nor bad, but a teenager detective? Our creative team contributed to make Spooky Wolf alive, worked beside the ForFun Media group and animated the brand new trailer for the coming soon TV Series of 52 episodes of 13 minutes each. Stay tuned!

Topo Gigio

We are very proud of our first big project: the Topo Gigio TV Series, 52 episodes of 11 minutes each, produced by Movimenti Production, Topo Gigio srl and Rai Ragazzi. The funny mouse will be our special resident guest until April 2020!

The Prince of the Clouds

DogHead's team shows its talent in 2D ToonBoom paperless animation with the Prince of the Clouds’ trailer. Our first international collaboration on a promising project with the French production Company Studio Red Frog.
